November Active Minds Lecture Examines China's Human Rights

Active Minds 2019 Adult Lecture Series

Adults - Join us on Wednesday, November 13 at 6:30 pm for the final of four seminars presented by Active Minds. This month's topic: China's Human Rights. Thirty years ago, China's human rights issues were showcased to the world by the Tiananmen Square Massacre. Join Active Minds as we look at how modern China continues to struggle with the balance between authoritarian government and basic human rights. We'll highlight the ways in which Chinese society is restricted as we peer through the lens of American freedoms we sometimes take for granted.

About the Active Minds Lecture Series

Lafayette Public Library and Lafayette Senior Services are pleased to co-sponsor a 2019 adult lecture series in partnership with Active Minds, a Colorado organization dedicated to creating engaging programs for adults featuring discussions of contemporary global issues, historical themes, and other matters of importance. This year we have covered renewable energy, as well as the complexities of Brexit, and a look at life in the West.

Visit Active Minds to learn more about all their mission and programs across the area in 2019.
