A notice is being sent to Lafayette water customers in water bills advising the public of the City's inability to produce two of four water storage tank inspection reports from the fourth quarter of 2016.
Because this is a violation of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment's (CDPHE) regulations, the City is required to distribute a public notification. The CDPHE acknowledges the City is currently properly performing and documenting water tank inspections and has been since 2016.
The Public Work Department would like to assure residents that water quality testing performed during this period met all quality standards and no adverse health effects were identified. A new electronic record keeping procedure has been implemented to ensure inspection reports are securely stored in order to avoid documentation violations in the future.
