[ARCHIVED] Old Town water line repair work on December 10

2019 Roosevelt and Kimbark Valve Repair Map

During the emergency repair of a water service line last week, the City of Lafayette Utility Crews discovered several water valves in the area that were not operating and/or began leaking. Work will begin in the two areas listed above on December 10th. Water service to approximately 42 properties in these areas (see map) will be shut off between the hours of 9:00am and 6:00pm. While service will be restored as quickly as possible, working on buried pipes can be unpredictable. Should unexpected issues occur requiring extended water outages, updates will continue to be communicated on the City’s website. Affected roads will be closed in the repair areas with allowances for emergency vehicles.

Additional valve repairs in Old Town are being planned. As upcoming repair schedules are solidified, timing and locations will be communicated to residents and business owners. Residents and business owners can expect intermittent water outages as we test the water system in the area. Please contact the City of Lafayette Public Works Department at 303-661-1277 with any questions.
