On Aug. 3, City Administrator Fritz Sprague enacted a Declaration of Local Disaster Emergency in response to a Cyberattack that caused the outage of City computers. The Declaration allows for outside assistance from the State, neighboring jurisdictions, and private contractors with the necessary technological expertise, to aid the City of Lafayette in its response and recovery due to the severity and magnitude of the cyberattack.
The Declaration is in effect for 7 days unless extended by City Council. City Council will consider extending the Declaration at their Aug. 4 meeting.
