Private water crafts, including boats and paddle-boards, are not allowed on Waneka Lake in order to prevent the introduction or spread of aquatic nuisance species.

*A wheel chair accessible paddleboat is available upon request.

*Weather Policy: During inclement weather, the boathouse could close without advanced notice. Weather that impacts the boathouse operation includes lightning, high winds, heavy rain or hail.

*If the weather seems questionable, please call the boathouse at 303-673-9124.

Waneka Lake Rules

  • You must be 12 years or older to rent a boat   
  • A photo ID is required   
  • Passengers are required to wear the provided life-jackets at all times   
  • No swimming or wading due to safety and liability concerns
  • Canoes and paddle-boats rented at the boathouse are the only vessels permitted on the lake
  • A fishing license is mandatory for those 16 years of age and older
  • State fishing regulations apply   Purchase a fishing license  
  • The lake is stocked with rainbow trout (2018).
  • All bass less than 15 inches must be returned to the water
We invite you to take advantage of the many amenities at Waneka Lake Park such as the walking/fitness trail, Greenlee Wildlife Viewing Platform, playground, and picnic areas.

SUP Yoga

SUP Yoga classes are all levels, traditional Yoga classes taught on the lake, on standup paddleboards. Classes, taught by a fully-qualified instructor, cover the basics of maneuvering on a board and the keys to accessing yoga postures on the water. SUP Yoga Classes are appropriate for all levels of participants from the beginner (both yoga and paddleboard use) and the full range in between. Minimum participant age is 15 years. Come try this fun, challenging, calming, empowering, yoga experience!

Qigong (pronounced chee-gung) is a system of gentle exercises that use breathing, meditation and movement to cultivate life energy. Practicing Qigong will help you increase vitality and enhance your well-being by leaning to consciously circulate energy through your body. With the practice of Qigong you will be able to release stress, reduce pain and improve your self-awareness. Anyone can learn these exercises, regardless of age or health condition. Classes in each session will build upon each other to enable you to progress in the practice of Qigong.
Classes will be held at Waneka Lake. Please wear comfortable clothing to class.

Tai Chi (Beginner for Seniors)

Tai Chi is exercise that is easy and gentle. Tai Chi develops body awareness that can help seniors to keep their balance. It can also keep seniors healthy  and mobile so they can maintain their independence and lead full lives.

Tai Chi (Intermediate for Seniors)

Intermediate Tai Chi si for people who want more...They've taken the first Tai Chi course and have gotten a taste of basic Tai Chi movements and the form and are now ready to go deeper.
