2019 Short Term Rental / Accessory Dwelling Unit Survey

  1. The City of Lafayette is considering allowing Short Term Rentals (STR) and Accessory Dwelling Units (ADU) in residential zones. We are interested in your opinions to assist with this decision.

  20. Accessory Dwelling Units (ADU) are additional living units typically located either in a back yard of a house as a detached, secondary structure (also known as a “carriage house” or "in-law quarters") or within the main house. These areas may be occupied by a family member or renter. ADUs are currently only allowed in the Old Town Residential Zoning District as separate structures (or over a detached garage) and cannot be larger than 750 square feet.
