Private water crafts, including boats and paddle-boards, are not allowed on Waneka Lake in order to prevent the introduction or spread of aquatic nuisance species.

WANEKA LAKE PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES
  • If you are sick or experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19 please stay home and do not participate.
  • Physical distancing of 6 feet is required.
  • Participants will be required to comply with current health guidelines, including wearing a face covering.
  • Please wash or sanitize your hands before you touch any of the boathouse equipment. 
  • All water craft are sanitized after each use following CDC recommendations.
  • All equipment including paddles and lifejacket are sanitized following CDC recommendations.

ALL WATERCRAFT RENTALS MUST BE RESERVED ONLINE.

  • Drop-in watercraft rentals are not available at this time.
  • Refunds will only be issued if the boathouse is closed due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
  • Please bring your own Coast Guard approved life jacket if you have one.

*Weather Policy: During inclement weather, the boathouse could close without advanced notice. Weather that impacts the boathouse operation includes lightning, high winds, heavy rain or hail.

Waneka Lake Rules


  • You must be 12 years or older to rent a boat   
  • A photo ID is required   
  • No pets allowed on watercraft
  • Passengers are required to wear life-jackets at all times   
  • No swimming or wading due to safety and liability concerns
  • Canoes and paddle-boats rented at the boathouse are the only vessels permitted on the lake
  • A fishing license is mandatory for those 16 years of age and older
  • State fishing regulations apply   Purchase a fishing license  
  • The lake is stocked with rainbow trout .
  • All bass less than 15 inches must be returned to the water
We invite you to take advantage of the many amenities at Waneka Lake Park such as the walking/fitness trail, Greenlee Wildlife Viewing Platform, playground, and picnic areas.
