  1. A Morning of Outdoor Photography with Gerry Morrell

    Join professional photographer Gerry Morrell and naturalist Martin Ogle for a walk on Coal Creek Trail. This photography workshop is open to teens and adults. Bring your camera. Sign up required. Lafayette Open Space naturalist, Martin Ogle, will provide participants a brief introduction to the area’s natural history and offer insights and ID’s informally during the event. Arts Outside offered by the Lafayette Cultural Arts Commission and the Lafayette Open Space and Parks Divisions. There will be three workshops offered summer 2019. Space is limited and RSVP is required for all of these programs. The location, topic and type of art will vary with each workshop.   1. 2019 Spring Citizens' Police Academy - FULL

    The Citizens' Police Academy is a unique 12 week mini-police academy for citizens 15 and older. The academy meets once a week to explain and demonstrate many of the department's policies, divisions and functions. Some areas covered include DUI investigation, crime scene investigation, felony car stops, traffic enforcement, tactics, SWAT and officer safety. If you have ever wondered why the police do what they do to keep you safe, apply to attend the 2019 spring academy! Applications and background checks are required. Applications available online & at the police department. Typically we hold one academy a year, in the fall. Due to an overwhelming interest in the fall 2018 academy, we are opening up a spring academy in 2019. The spring class is already filling up! Seating is limited, so apply early! SPRING ACADEMY IS NOW FULL!

    Free mulch is available to Lafayette residents at the City of Lafayette Service Center. Staff will be available on-site to assist with loading loose mulch. Mulch will be available until all material is gone. *THIS EVENT IS WEATHER-PERMITTING.* *Event may be cancelled if the conditions at City Service Center are too wet and muddy.* A decision will be made on Friday, May 24th if this event will be held.
