The Citizens' Police Academy is a unique 12 week mini-police academy for citizens 15 and older. The academy meets once a week to explain and demonstrate many of the department's policies, divisions and functions. Some areas covered include DUI investigation, crime scene investigation, felony car stops, traffic enforcement, tactics, SWAT and officer safety. If you have ever wondered why the police do what they do to keep you safe, apply to attend the 2019 spring academy! Applications and background checks are required. Applications available online & at the police department. Typically we hold one academy a year, in the fall. Due to an overwhelming interest in the fall 2018 academy, we are opening up a spring academy in 2019. The spring class is already filling up! Seating is limited, so apply early! SPRING ACADEMY IS NOW FULL!
